since leaving the jw's after over 4 decades, i can see exactly what it is and hate everything it stands for.
however, there are still some jw habits and traits that i can't get rid of:.
1. i can't swear in general conversation (i'd have to be really angry).
Funny when you said black pudding I was thinking chocolate pudding. Lol we had alot of that at the convention.
Don't like any supernatural stuff where ever we go we are first to get there. I turn atheists but still am part of a UU congregation but most here in this congregation are atheists. The only thing I will tell other people about religion is it's a snare and a racket. Still Totally ADD

Just watch the video and to be frank it was depressing. But most likely the ones standing in the field would find there would be no one to help them. this is my 192nd post, so i thought it'd be fitting to ask a somewhat banal question which i've occasionally pondered over the years.
does anyone know what's behind the wt's penchant for 192-page books?
is there some kind of logistical reason for this?
Fred good question about the 192 page book. I have no idea but maybe it was a number made up years ago for convince sake on how many pages to write for future books or maybe the Borg knew 192 pages is all one could stomach per book lol. hi all.. personal experience.
attended a regional convention in melbourne australia.. saturday attendance,, 1,500 approx.. baptism,, 11. about 8 born ins ,,, all 8 under 20yo and 5 under 17.. 3 of the 11 appeared to be over 20 and are not born ins.. sounds about .8% increase ,,, kind of.. the outstanding part of the day was the continual reference to ' are you, can you do more'.

my father would have started college 49 years ago this week.
about three months earlier, the week he graduated high school, the awake!
magazine came out with some very clear direction to teenagers.
I was 15 at the time that awake came out. I remember my dad took me aside and went over that article. He told me I will not have to worry about any higer education after high school. He also said all through my childhood I would never grow old and die and armagadon would most likely come before I graduated from school. As we all know time has keep marching on. The borg is still vomiting out of their mouths this same old shit. How stupid I have been all these years. The only good thing we did was make sure our two boys went to a vocational school to learn a good trade. You should have seen the heat I got from elders and co's and others for encouraging that.

when i was a jw and still living with my parents i remember the way my father held what could almost be described as contempt for archeologists, paleontologists, and other scientists who dared to try explain what happened in past.
he justified this attidtude with the argument that these people don’t have enough evidence to make such claims with any certainty.
however, i see now that his viewpoint was more likely a defense mechanism to protect his presupposed conclusion that everything described in the bible actually happened.

Hello flipper, I hope this finds you well. I have been reading this post off and on for a while now and yes I was and so were my two daughter's in laws and many other I knew through the years. Here's a thought and I may be to sensitive in my feelings on this. Are not all children in the borg being sexually abuse when they are made to sit in on gb rants on sex from the platform. Let' face it the wt.borg is not a safe place for young children. Abuse comes in many forms and age inappropriate talks to me is just as abusive. How could it not! Their teaching of how everyone in the world is going to be killed, the fear that there is a demon behind every bush and telling the flock they are Good for nothing slaves desensitizes people thinking.

My wife gave one to me was a x-mas gift a few years ago. I was always told I had native American and African American in my back ground. It never showed up but it showed I had Greek, Italian and Irish. The rest of my heritage I knew about. I was disappointed about no native and African American in my background but now I know why I always liked Greek and Italian food so much. Still Totally ADD
